Aves strengthen squad with double signing
Ribeiro and Moreira snapped up by strugglers
Desportivo das Aves have dipped into the transfer market and bought Portugal under-21 international, Jorge Ribeiro, and striker Moreira (pictured) from Dynamo Moscow.
Former Benfica player, Ribeiro, was all smiles with the move and is happy to be back in Portugal after a less than stellar experience in Moscow.
“I’m very happy to come back to my country. I am coming to a very good club in spite of the situation they find themselves in.”
“I’m here to help and I expect Aves to get out this situation, which they do not deserve.”
The well travelled Moreira, who has also represented Boavista, Hamburg and Standard Liege was equally happy to be back in Portugal.
“I feel extremely confident and would like to make it quite clear that I have not come to Aves to pass the time.”
“I am here as I was presented with a good project. The team is in a bad position, but I think that we will recuperate.”
It is not yet known if the players have arrived on loan with the option to make the deal permanent or if Dynamo Moscow have released the Portuguese duo from their contracts.
