Belenenses put faith in Panamanian players

Nicolas Munoz becomes third Panamanian signing for Blues

Belenenses continue their penchant for Panamanian players, signing their third player hailing from the Central American country in six months.

After signing Luis Garces on loan last January, the club have since brought in Gabriel Gomez and have now secured striker, Nicolas Munoz. The 26-year-old Panamanian marksman spent last season playing in El Salvador.

Nivaldo leaves

On the downside, St. Etienne have secured the signature of Belenenses central defender, Nivaldo. The French club dished out 3 million euros for the Brazilian who signs a three-year deal with the Ligue 1 side.

Nivaldo was brought to Belenenses only last year and was purchased for 70 000 euros from Coritiba. His highly impressive displays caught the attention of the French side and Belenenses were unable to refuse such a big offer.

The deal also includes two friendly matches between the two clubs, to be scheduled at later dates.
