Belenenses snap up Brazilian starlet

Evandro Roncatto aiming for goals galore

Belenenses have announced the signing of 21-year-old striker, Evandro Roncatto, from Ipatinga. The Brazilian hitman replaces the recently departed Garces and joins the club on loan until the end of the season.

The player represented the Brazil U-17 World Cup winning team in 2003 and was the second highest goal scorer of the tournament behind Cesc Fabregas.

Roncatto is excited to be with the Blues and is looking to repay their faith in him by becoming the team’s and perhaps the league’s highest goalscorer.

“I will work hard and will honour the blue jersey of Belenenses. All strikers dream of being the highest goalscorer. My dreams are no different and I will fight to score goals and help the team.”

In other club news, Belenenses also awarded their highest goalscorer last season, Dady, with a contract extension. Details of the contract were not disclosed, but it is believed that the player will remain with the club until 2009.
