Casemiro Mior set to take over as new Belenenses coach

Brazilian returns to Portugal

Belenenses have solved their coaching issue as the club are primed to sign Casemiro Mior as their new bench boss. The Brazilian tactician is expected to sign a one-year deal with the Blues with an official announcement to come later this week.

The former Nacional coach will take over from Jorge Jesus, who recently left for Sporting Braga. Mior has not coached in Portugal since leaving Nacional in 2004, after guiding the Madeira club to a fourth place finish and qualification for the Uefa Cup that season.

Mior will become the Liga’s fifth new coaching appointment after Jorge Jesus (Sporting Braga), Manuel Machado (Nacional), Dauto Faquira (Vitoria Setubal) and Quique Flores (Benfica).

Clubs that have yet to fill their coaching vacancies are Maritimo, Estrela da Amaorda and Boavitsa.
