Belenenses snap up Jankauskas

Lithuanian makes return to Portuguese football

Belenenses have wrapped up their winter transfer activities by closing a deal for striker Edgaras Jankauskas. The former Benfica and FC Porto player arrived midday Wednesday to tie up the deal.

The Lithuanian is a replacement for Meyong, the striker who the club signed on loan from Levante earlier this month, but who was subsequently declared ineligible by FIFA and the FPF for having represented more than two clubs in one season.

Jankauskas arrives on a free transfer from Cypriot club AEK Larnaca. This will be the third club in Portugal that the striker has represented and he has also had spells with Nice and Hearts.
