Northerners raid Maritimo for second time in days

Vitoria Guimaraes have sealed the signature of midfielder Wenio for the next two seasons. The Brazilian becomes the second player from Maritimo that Vitoria have captured, after landing central defender Gregory.

Having been sparingly used by the Madeira club, the creative midfielder is excited about having a new start with the Champions League bound outfit and cannot wait to work under coach Manuel Cajuda.

“This was a club who had previously shown interest during the season Cleber was here. At the time they invited me, but I had renewed with Maritimo for five seasons. Now I am happy and ready to show my best football and help the club achieve their goals.”

“Cajuda is a coach who I cannot say enough good things about and I have to thank him for what he did for me in the past. Now I will work with him at Vitoria Guimaraes. It is a perfect wedding,” stated the Brazilian.
