Boavista sign ex-Benfica striker Edgar
Boavista have made their second signing of the transfer season by snapping up ex-Malaga striker Edgar. The Portuguese marksman has signed a two-year contract with an option for a third.
Club president, Joao Loureiro, was overjoyed to have signed the former Benfica product and feels that Edgar fits the Boavista mould. “Athletically, he is strong and he knows how to play football.”
Edgar joins former Steaua Bucharest goalkeeper Marcos as the second new face at the Porto club.
Loureiro added that the club intend to sign eight more players in the upcoming week to help culminate the fact that they let twelve players leave after the final game of last season.
A busy time for the Black Panthers as they look to build a squad to fight for the title they won for the first time in the club’s history in 2001.
