Return of the prodigal son confirmed
Boavista contract Jamie Pacheco
Boavista have confirmed the return of Jaime Pacheco as the club’s new head coach.
Pacheco could not be happier to come back to the club where he has so many wonderful memories. The colourful coach feels that it will take “unity” to get the club back to the heights it once achieved.
“We have to mutually help each other out, especially in this difficult moment. All together we can manage to bring this club to the highest level, where we once were. We have to be united to achieve a better future.”
Pacheco was a man of few words as he did not allow the journalists who attended the press conference any questions. “I am satisfied to be here and will use all my will, strength, dedication and honesty to serve the club.”
“I left for a while, but never truly left this house. I feel a sense of emotion, love and happiness. I am not a special coach, but I am a different person. I have enormous empathy for this club.”
Boavista fans will be hoping he can bring back the club’s glory days. The Black Panthers enjoyed their greatest moments under the guidance of Pacheco, which included a championship title in 2000/01 and a UEFA Cup semi-final appearance in 2002/03.
