Boavista bolster squad with duo
Matheus and Moises sign for Black Panthers
Boavista have bolstered their roster with the addition of Matheus and Moises.
The 23-year-old Matheus has signed a three-year contract with the Porto based club and Moises comes on loan from Brazilian side, Cruzeiro.
Fans will remember that Matheus was the centre of attention last year as Gil Vicente were relegated for fielding the player although the forward was ineligible. Matheus himself is looking to put all that behind him and move on with his career at Boavista.
“It’s certainly a club I can identify with. I enjoy watching Boavista play and I think I have all the qualities to relaunch my career here.”
As for Moises, the central defender was once a target for Sporting, and even signed a contract with the lions, but a court injunction imposed by his then club, Krylya Sovetov, blocked the move.
Likewise, the player wants to put his contentious past behind him and focus on playing football with Boavista.
“This is a club that has a great tradition. Unfortunately, I had a problem with Sporting, but my life goes on. Now I would like to help the club by giving my best.”
The two will join up with their new team-mates for training in time to be used for the club’s upcoming match away to Pacos de Ferreira on Saturday.
