Braga snap up Cesar Peixoto on three-year deal
Joao Pinto and Wender agree contract extensions
Sporting Braga have agreed a three-year deal with former Porto winger Cesar Peixoto.
The player has been training with the club since March of this year when he rescinded his contract with Espanyol following successive injury problems.
Braga have also announced they have signed 18-year-old Brazilian striker, Philco, who has impressed during a trial period training with the senior squad over the last few months.
Veterans sign extended deals
Meanwhile veteran forwards Joao Pinto and Wender have also committed their future to Braga. Former Portugal international Pinto has agreed a one-year deal, with Brazilian winger Wender penning a two-year agreement.
Together with the recent renewals of Vandinho, for four years, and Ze Carlos, for two years, the Arsenalistas have signalled their intentions to consolidate their status as Portugal’s fourth most important club, with a view to competing with the big three for silverware.
Another player that the club will be looking to secure is midfielder, Andres Madrid. The Argentinean was the subject of intense speculation last season of an imminent move to one of the Portuguese Big Three.
There is little doubt that the same will happen during the close season as FC Porto, Sporting and Benfica look to beef up their squads for Champions League action next season.
