Braga snap up Benfica’s Miguelito
Player aiming to re-launch career at Arsenalistas
Sporting Braga have presented Miguelito to the press after the left-back’s transfer from Benfica was completed over the Christmas break, with the player signing a three and a half year deal for the Arsenalistas.
Miguelito did not feature in Jose Antonio Camacho’s plans and was happy to switch clubs and reunite with former boss, Manuel Machado. “I have come here to prove my worth,” explained Miguelito.
“I went to Benfica to learn and now I’m here at Braga to continue my career and help the team achieve its objectives. I came to Braga because I feel confident that people here believe in me, from the board of directors down to the coach.”
Miguelito will fight for a place in the team along with the club’s other left-backs, Cesar Peixoto and Carlos Fernandes.
Braga president Antonio Salvador admitted that the club will be bringing in more new faces during the January transfer window and will be offloading Castanheira and Hussain.
