Amoreirinha joins Portuguese contingent in Romania
Ex-Benfica defender becomes Cluj’s 9th Portuguese
Benfica central defender, Amoreirinha, will join the merry band of Portuguese players stationed in Romania’s Liga 1, specifically at the Uefa Cup participants Cluj.
The U-21 international was loaned out to Estrela da Amadora for the last two years, and never broke into the Benfica squad. Now he has signed a four-year contract with the Romanian outfit.
Details of the deal were not disclosed, but this is the first deal between the two clubs since the signing of the cooperation protocol agreement earlier this year.
Amoreirinha will join compatriots Tony, Semedo, Cadu, Pedro Oliveira, Dani, Fredy and Manuel Jose already at the Romanian club.
