Cluj snap up yet another Portuguese
Andre Leo makes the switch from Beira-Mar to Romania
The contingency of Portuguese players plying their trade in Romania has increased as Beira-Mar’s Andre Leo has signed a three year contract with Cluj.
The transfer comes immediately after the club from Aveiro were relegated to the Liga da Honra on the final day of the season.
The former FC Porto youth product is excited about the prospect of playing in Romania and believes that the move is a step in the right direction for his career.
“I come here with the ambition of making the starting XI. Cluj will be in the Uefa Cup next year and because of this alone, I am happy to be here.”
The 21-year-old joins the likes of Cadu, Tony, Fredy, Dani, Manual Jose, Semedo and Pedro Oliveira as one of the many Portuguese players making their living in Romania’s Liga 1.
