Solid start for Cluj
Otelul Galati 0-1 CFR Cluj
CFR Cluj, the Romanian team which has a remarkable ten Portuguese players in their squad, won their first match of the new season on Wednesday, 1-0 at Otelul Galati, in the first round of Liga I.
The derby match pitted together two teams who have qualified for the UEFA Cup.
The only goal was scored by one of the few Romanians of Cluj, former international Eugen Trica, who scored from the penalty spot in the 6th minute.
Three Portuguese started for the winners, Cadu, Dani and Antonio Semedo, while Andre Leao came on as a second-half substitute. Two more, Nuno Claro and Fredy, remained on the bench.
Amoreirinha, Pedro Oliveira and Manuel Jose were not called up for this match.
