Lito and Farjado on Academica shopping list
Naval duo targeted by coach Manual Machado
Academica have dipped into the transfer market and are close to signing Naval forward, Lito. The Cape Verdean striker looks set to put pen to paper on a two-year deal with the Coimbra club.
The striker, who scored 6 goals this past term, will be reunited with former coach, Manual Machado. The Academica tactician was the player’s coach during his time with Moreirense and was the driving force for Lito to make the move.
The eventual signing of Lito will be seen as a replacement for the soon to be departing N’doye. The Cameroonian has had a turbulent season with the club off the field, and has made his wishes known that he will be leaving to secure a club elsewhere.
Lito may not be the only player the Briosa sign from Naval. It is rumoured that the club are hotly pursuing midfielder, Fajardo. Academica are waiting until the player’s contract expires in June before they pounce.
Fajardo will be brought in to replace Roberto Brum and Miguel Pedro as both are expected be leaving in the close season.
Finally, it appears that the relationship between Alexandre and Academica has come to an end as the player’s contract expires at the end of this season with the club unlikely to re-sign the midfielder. He is expected to return to his native Brazil.
