Portuguese international keen to play under Ferguson
Deportivo la Coruña star Jorge Andrade has issued a ‘come and get me’ plea to Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson, who he dubs as a legend in the game.
Andrade, who has been linked with both the Red Devils and Newcastle United in the past, says it would be a dream to play in the Premiership - especially under the guidance of Ferguson.
With United on the look-out for a new defender, Andrade could fit the bill as Rio Ferdinand looks to a more permanent partner in defence.
“I have a proposition from Newcastle via my club but my preferred English club is Manchester United,” said the 27-year-old Portuguese international.
“To that club I would go with my eyes closed because it represents everything a player dreams about. To play for a legend like Sir Alex Ferguson must be something special.”
”English football is famous for being hard but I have played against several clubs and the England team and always I have left alive and played well.”
Should the move go ahead Andrade would doubtless find help in settling at United in the shape of compatriots Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Queiroz.
