Jose Fonte and Dario sign for Lisbon club

Estrela da Amadora have boosted their squad with the capture of Benfica defender, Jose Fonte, and seasoned Mozambican striker Dario.

Fonte (pictured) has agreed a one-year loan deal at Estrela. The youngster admitted it was difficult to make the Benfica squad because of the competition for places, but added he is looking forward to the upcoming campaign with Estrela.

“I will on concentrate on Estrela da Amadora while helping the club achieve its objectives and give my all until the end of the season, so that I can return to Benfica and impose myself for a place in the squad,” he said.

Former Academica and Guimaraes striker Dario said he was delighted to move to the club from the outskirts of Lisbon and promised he would do everything possible to score goals.

“If it was just a question of desire, which I’ve got bags of, I’m certainly going to have an excellent season. Goals? I hope to score lots for this team,” he said.
