Alan delighted to pen Guimaraes deal
President guarantees more reinforcements to be recruited
Vitoria Guimaraes continue to be very active in the transfer market and have added former FC Porto winger, Alan, to their squad. The forward accepted a one-year loan deal with the historical northern club and is glad to have made the move.
“I thank Vitoria for the opportunity they have given me to re-launch my career. I have left FC Porto but have arrived at another big club. They are a great club and I know the coach well.”
“Here I have some friends, the project is good and the objective of qualifying for the Uefa Cup is well prepared. Now I only think of Guimaraes – FC Porto are a part of the past. I did have offers from other clubs, but I chose Vitoria.”
The player has endured a difficult time at Porto where he was seldom used after his move from Maritimo two years ago.
Mystery signing imminent
Club president Emilio Macedo has confessed that the club are on the verge of securing two more players, one of them from FC Porto again. Macedo was cryptic as to who would be arriving, but is certain that another player is to join the club’s ranks.
“Most certainly there is one more player from FC Porto that is to arrive. We have various options, but I guarantee that it is a player of high quality. I will not announce the name because I must be careful what I say.”
Macedo also added that U-20 midfielder, Pele, who is having a fine campaign with Portugal in the Youth World Cup in Canada will be part of the team when he returns from national duty. The club president insisted that the classy midfielder will only leave the club if an unbelievable offer came his way.
