Boavista cash in on Grzelak

Boavista continue to reshuffle their squad as the club have announced the sale of Polish international Grzelak to Skoda Xanthi. The midfielder, who signed a three-year deal with the Porto club at the beginning of the season, will now head to Greece to ply his trade for the next four seasons.

The move is as seen as an attempt by the club to become financially stable after almost declaring bankruptcy earlier this season. It is reported that the club will receive 200,000 euros for the transfer. After releasing Gagic, it is expected that the club will not stop here and continue to make sweeping changes to the squad.

Leixoes snap up Castanheira

Shortly after the announcement that he did not feature into Sporting Braga’s plans, Castanheira has wasted little time in finding a new home. The player will represent Leixoes.

The 30-year-old was heavily sought after by Leixoes coach Carlos Brito as the tactician looks to fill some gaps in his midfield and believes the former Braga player to be a good fit. The purchase did not cost a penny as the player was available on a free transfer.

Leiria swoop for Pole

Uniao de Leiria are close to signing Polish striker Damian Gorawski. The 29-year-old former Wisla Krakow player has had a torrid time at FC Moscow, where he featured in 39 matches and only scored twice in three seasons.

The player was set to sign for Championship side, Ipswich Town, but Leiria look to have scuppered the deal and enticed the Polish international to Portugal. Gorawski, who can also play as a right winger, is expected to arrive in the coming days.

Naval boost strikeforce with Marinho

Naval have made their first foray into the transfer market as the club have signed Marinho from FC Fatima. The 24-year-old is excited to be playing in the Portuguese top flight and wants to achieve big things with the club.

“I did not expect to make it to the Bwin Liga so quickly, but I always worked hard with the idea that this would happen. I want to help Naval achieve all of their objectives as quickly as possible.”

The former Sporting product will most likely be inserted straight into the line-up this weekend as Naval pay a visit to the Estadio do Dragao to face FC Porto. The Dragons are all too familiar with the player as he was a member of the Fatima team who helped eliminate Porto from the Carlsberg Cup.
