Figo: Inter have given me back the joy of playing
Inter Milan 3-0 Palermo
The evergreen Luís Figo is going from strength to strength at Inter Milan.
The Portuguese legend admitted he is delighted with his game in Italy, saying, “Inter have given me back the joy of playing on a regular basis. This is important and what makes any footballer happy.”
Figo put in a vintage performance in Inter’s 3-0 win at home to Palermo on Saturday, setting up two goals and scoring the other.
After Cambiasso and Córdoba got on the end of Figo crosses to put Inter two goals up, Figo curled a fine free-kick into the back of the net to wrap up the win.
The win kept Inter in second as they pursue Juventus, and despite the big points gap Figo believes the reigning champions can be caught. “We have to continue to fight in every match. I don’t believe Inter are inferior to Juventus.”
“We’re facing a tough month with two games a week, but it’s important to keep up our good form. I want to win the trophies I won at Real Madrid. These titles give prestige to any club in the world.”
