Ronaldo and Nani delighted to reach Champions League final
Manchester United pair hail “incredible achievement”
Manchester United duo Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani have expressed their delight at reaching their first Champions League final.
The Red Devils beat Barcelona 1-0 at Old Trafford in the second leg of the competition’s semi-final on Tuesday, securing a 1-0 aggregate victory, meaning the club’s first appearance in the final for nine years.
“It’s a great feeling to be in my first Champions League final. I feel very good,” said Ronaldo, who was part of the United side knocked out in the semi-finals by Milan last season.
“But it doesn’t matter, we need to think about the league. We have two games left and if we win them both we are champions. We have a good opportunity to win the Premier League and the Champions League now.
“My performance? It wasn’t important, winning was and we’re in the final. It was an intensive game. Any team could win and I thought Manchester United played better than Barcelona. We created more chances. We played better football.”

Happy debut year
Meanwhile, fellow Portuguese Nani will crown his first season at Old Trafford with a Champions League final, and the former Sporting man says he is delighted with how his first year in England has developed.
“I’m very happy because this is my first year with Manchester United and this is an incredible achievement,” he said. “Not many players can say they have reached the Champions League final.
“I’m satisfied with the game I played, but the success is down to the team. Ferguson congratulated everyone in the dressing room because getting to a final is always a big success and we have moved a step closer to reaching our objective.
“We have managed to achieve in the game what we all dreamed about. We needed to score the first goal to control the play and stop Barcelona causing us any kind of danger.”
In a final which could include up to five Portuguese players, United meet Premiership title rivals Chelsea, including Paulo Ferreira, Ricardo Carvalho and Hilario, in Moscow for the showpiece occasion on May 21st.
