Maritimo snap up Brazilian defender

U17 world champion Joao Guilherme purchased

Maritimo have made their first foray into the winter transfer market as they have signed Joao Guilherme from Internacional de Porto Alegre. The former U17 world champion was purchased for 140,000 euros and comes highly rated.

Maritimo boss, Lazaroni, feels that the player has a lot to offer despite playing for Internacioanl’s B team this past season.

“He is young and is very strong athletically. He has played 16 games and has scored a goal for Internacional. The player’s value speaks for itself.”

The 21-year-old will arrive in the coming weeks and is the fourth player to represent Maritimo via Internacional. Guilherme follows the footsteps of Edigle, Mossoro and Marcelo Boeck.
