Full time whistle goes and Portugal let two point slip in the Armenian capital Yerevan. A poor display by Scolari's men, although Armenia showed why they had beaten Poland and drawn with Finland on home turf. The double-header against Poland and Serbia in September now assumes massive importance for Portugal. The two matches are likely to go a long to deciding whether or not Portugal can make it qualifications for five straight major tournaments.

Bruno Alves misses a golden opportunity to grab all three points for Portugal, heading wide when it seemed easier to score.

Armenia make a last-minute substitution. The home side seem happy with the point.

Armenia are starting to look dangerous again. Another forward with an unpronouncable name fires in a dangerous shot that Ricardo pouches.

Yellow card for Jorge Andrade. Dangerous run from the Armenian winger is abruptly brought to a halt by the Juventus man. From the resulting free kick a shot flies over the bar.

Fine effort from Tiago whistles just the wrong side of the post with the home keeper struggling to reach it.

Surging run from right-back Miguel wins a corner. Deco comically slips onto his behind and the ball dribbles out of play five metres from the Barcelona man.

Ricardo Quaresma, fresh from scoring two magnificent goals for Porto at the weekend, comes on for Simao Sabrosa.

On comes Gomes for Postiga. A quiet night from the Porto striker. Quaresma also seems set to come on.

Portugal are starting to pass the ball around nicely. A five-man move ends with Ronaldo suffering a foul 30 metres from goal in a central position. Ronaldo fires in the free kick but the ball deflects off the wall over the bar.

Portugal seem to have come out in the second half with a far more positive attitude. Angry words from Scolari?

Simao wins a corner on the right. Ronaldo flicks the ball on and Meira just fails to get the final touch. The ball breaks to Meireles who shoots wide.

Ronaldo goes on a weaving run but his shot is blocked. Play switches to the other end of the pitch. Another dangerous raid from the home side forces Ricardo to punch clear.

Corner kick for Armenia cleverly worked with a dangerous shot fizzing into the side-netting.

Half-time whistle goes. A poor first-half display from Portugal against a surprising Armenia. The home side showed greater urgency, effort and determination and no little skill throughout the opening half. But that man Cristiano Ronaldo scores yet another goal for Portugal to leave the match all square going into the break. Surely Scolari will have strong words during the interval.

Dangerous free-kick for Armenia on the right wing. From the exactly the same position the home side scored their first goal. A dangerous cross is well cut out by Meira.

Counter-attack led by Raul Meireles. The Porto midfielder shoots low and hard across goal but the ball drifts wide.

GOAL for Portugal!!! Ronaldo robs the ball off a home defender on the touch-line weaves his way towards the net and rolls the ball into the net after a wonderful high-speed piece of skill left the goalkeeper floundering.

Misunderstanding between Andrade and Meira gifts Armenia the ball. The home side win a corner which comes to nothing.

Portugal again try to break through the middle. Deco exchanges passes with Ronaldo but scuffs his effort wide.

Ronaldo is next to shoot for goal. Some nifty footwork works an opening but his effort is deflected and and bounces harmlessly into the goalkeeper's hand.

Deco again tries his luck from distance. Low shot easily saved by the home keeper.

Deco collects a pass from Tiago and shoots powrfully but over the bar.

Mkhitaryan turns Raul Meireles inside out and swings another dangerous cross into the box. Ricardo collects.

Portugal at last start to pin back the Armenians. Two corners and a couple of free-kicks into the box are well dealt with by the home defence.

Wild celebrations among the home supporters, coaching staff and subs. Portugal have to wake up quickly. A defeat here could compromise Portugal's qualifying hopes.

GOAL for Armenia!!! Arzumanyan evades his marker to head in a cross from the right. No more than Armenia deserve. Nightmare start for Portugal.

Ricardo saves Portugal! Armenia striker runs across the box, hits a powerful shot towards the top corner and Ricardo produces a flying save to tip the ball over the bar.

If Portugal thought Armenia would play a defensive game, early indications suggest otherwise. Another dangerous attack ends with a good cross whipped into the box that Meira does well to cut our for a corner.

Deco finds Ronaldo who immediately poses danger with a typically strong run, dribble and cross, which the goalkeeper snaffles.

Armenia win an early free-kick near the corner flag. A dangerous cross eludes Ricardo but drifts wide of the post.
