Madeira club show coach the door after poor results

Carlos Brito has been sacked as Nacional coach five matches from the end of the 2006/07 campaign.

Jokanovic, the club’s former youth team coach, is to take temporary charge of the team until the end of the season.

Nacional currently lie seventh in the Bwin Liga, and on Sunday fell to a shock 4-3 home defeat against bottom club Desportivo das Aves.

The departure of Carlos Brito is the 14th change of coach this season in the Portuguese top flight which contains just 16 clubs.

Braga have changed their coach three times during the course of this season, while Boavista and Setubal both brought in a new boss on two occasions.
