Naval’s Nei says emotional goodbye

Defender Fabricio and forward Marcelinho sign

The departure of Naval’s number one marksman, Nei, has been confirmed. The club’s leading scorer last season is to move to CSKA Sofia for one million euros.

An emotional Nei expressed his sorrow as he said his goodbyes to his team-mates: “On the one hand I am very happy, but on the other, I am sad to be leaving this group with whom I would like to continue working.”

In other club news, Naval have secured the services of central defender, Fabricio Alcantara. Details of the transfer involving the 23-year-old stopper were not disclosed, but the Brazilian is set to replace the vacancy left by Orestes, who moved to Hansa Rostock earlier this summer.

Despite his young age, Alcantara has travelled the globe having spent spells in Hong Kong, the United Arab Emirates and Italy where he represented Torino’s B team.

Naval have also bolstered their attack for the upcoming season by signing Marcelo Silva, better known as, Marcelinho. The former Avai (Brazil Serie B) player has signed for three years with an option for a fourth.
