Carlos Carneiro goes full circle
Walsall striker set to rejoin Pacos de Ferreira
Pacos da Ferreira look set to add a new face to their squad when the transfer window opens in January as the club are looking to sign Portuguese striker, Carlos Carneiro.
The 32-year-old recently rescinded his contract with English League one side Walsall and started training with Pacos this week.
The experienced Carneiro has already donned the Pacos jersey before as he came through the club’s youth academy and spent a total of nine seasons at the Mata Real.
After leaving Pacos, Carneiro went on to play for Vitoria Guimaraes and Gil Vicente in Portugal, then Panionios in Greece, before moving on a free transfer to the English side earlier this summer.
Carneiro’s time at Walsall has not been a successful one as the striker has been plagued with a shoulder injury since his arrival. The club felt that it was best to cut their losses and allow the Portuguese player to leave.
The much-travelled forward has now returned to where he started his career and stated he would like to end his playing days with the same club where it all began.
