Real Madrid set sights on Lucho Gonzalez
Another FC Porto star to be tempted abroad?
Lucho Gonzalez reported for duty the Estadio do Dragao yesterday, but according to the Spanish press the Argentine international may soon be saying his goodbyes to his FC Porto team-mates.
After capturing Porto central defender Pepe for 30m euros, Real Madrid have reportedly made a bid of 25 million euros for the star midfielder.
Porto are not in an ideal position to bargain given that they own only half of the sporting rights of Gonzalez, the other half being owned by the Global Soccer Agencies fund.
However, Jesualdo Ferreria would be loathe to lose last season’s captain, especially after already having seen two of the bedrocks of the championship winning team, Pepe and Anderson, depart.
Lucho was the subject of a 20m euro bid earlier this summer from Valencia which Porto turned down, but the amount now offered by Real and the player’s wishes may now push the transfer through.
