Lucho Gonzalez targeted by Valencia
Porto at risk of losing another influential midfielder
FC Porto might be losing another important member of their squad as Valencia are looking to acquire the services of classy midfielder, Lucho Gonzalez.
The Spanish side’s director of football, Miguel Angel Ruiz, confessed the club’s liking of the Argentinian, saying he would like to add the player to Valenica’s ranks.
“Lucho is a complete player. He has got drive, quality, is an international and for such a young player he has experience. As a result, he fits the mode of the type of player that we would like to have.”
Ruiz went further and added that Los Che have already had a bid rejected for Gonzalez, although he added that the Porto man is not the only player the club are pursuing and they have contingency plans should they fail to land the Argentinian international.
Gonzalez is currently on national duty with Argentina in the Copa America. If Porto were to sell their influential midfielder it would be the second time this close season that they would have cashed in on one of their prized assets after the sale of Brazilian, Anderson, to Manchester United for 30 million euros last month.
Even more worrying for the Dragons’ fans are the constant rumours that their talismanic winger, Ricardo Quaresma, is being hotly pursued be fellow La Liga side, Atletico Madrid, as well as Liverpool from the Premiership.
