FC Porto complete Kazmierczak transfer
Uruguayan Luis Aguiar also set to sign for champions
The drawn-out transfer saga involving Polish midfielder Kazmierczak has come to a close as FC Porto officially unveiled the former Boavista player who will don the blue and white stripes next season.
Much hullabaloo had surrounded the player’s final destination after Boavista declined to offer a permanent deal to the Polish international when his loan spell last season ended. The player was originally thought to be heading to Benfica, but in the end has settled with the Dragons.
The 25-year-old is excited to be playing with the two-time reigning champions. “I just finished signing a contract and I will be starting a new life,” stated Kazmierczak. “FC Porto are a fantastic club, which I never thought I would reach so quickly.”
The player will now return to his native Poland to relax and rejoice in his career move, in order to be fully prepared for his new adventure with Porto.
Porto bring another South American on board
Meanwhile Porto continue to be very active in the transfer market, particularly in South America. Uruguayan midfielder Luis Aguiar has confirmed on Portuguese radio station Antena 1 that everything has been agreed between him, his club, Liverpool de Montevideo, and the Portuguese championships.
“Yes, everything has been settled between the two clubs. What is left are just the medical exams and signing the contract.”
The player is looking forward to his new adventure at Porto and cannot wait for the new season to begin. Aguiar has stated his preferred position, but says that there is time for that to be determined.
“I feel better playing in between the midfield and the strikers. I have played many times in that position, but what must be done first is agree on everything with Porto and then win a place in the team.”
Aguiar added that since fellow countryman Jorge Fucile – also bought from Liverpool de Montevideo – broke into Porto’s starting XI his former team-mate has enjoyed far more exposure and he hopes the same will happen to him.
It is only a matter of dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s for Aguiar to officially become a Porto player.
