Lisandro Lopez happy to pledge future to FC Porto

Argentine wants only victory against Estrela da Amadora

Lisandro Lopez

Porto poacher, Lisandro Lopez, is having a fine season with the Portuguese champions this year having already notched eight goals in nine matches in the Bwin Liga, on top of the Champions League winner against Marseille in midweek.

Despite his personal achievements, the Argentine is putting the team first, starting with helping the Dragons get back to winning ways in the Bwin Liga after dropping their first points of the season to Belenenses in a 1-1 draw in the previous round.

“We want to return to victories against Estrela. We cannot take it easy as this is an important match for us,” said Lopez.

“We must produce the same confidence and fight that we did against Marseille to obtain the three points. Personally, I hope to score, but what interests me above all is the team’s victory.”

Asked whether he would be tempted to try pastures new after donning the blue and white stripes for the past two years, Lopez dismissed the notion, citing that he feels good at Porto and that the treatment he receives at the club is on par, if not better, than he could expect at any other top club in Europe.

Happy to stay put

“I feel great at FC Porto and I have no doubts that I want to remain with the club. I have the same conditions here, or better, than I would have at any other big club. To leave FC Porto does not enter my head.”

In other club news, two players that will not be making the trip to Amadora are Lucho Gonzalez and Bruno Alves.

Lopez’s fellow countryman, Gonzalez, is still suffering from an ankle knock and Portuguese international, Alves, is suffering from pain in his right leg picked up in the match against Marseille.
