Lisandro Lopez expecting three points for Porto at the Estadio da Luz

Argentine hotshot confident of winning clash of the titans

Lisandro Lopez

FC Porto’s top marksman, Lisandro Lopez, is looking forward to the classico between his side and Benfica at the Estadio da Luz this weekend.

The Liga’s top goalscorer last season is full of confidence and feels that Porto will walk away from their fiercest rivals’ stadium with nothing less than maximum points. “Typically, there are no favourites in these types of matches – a classico. But the dressing room is very confident and we will go to the Luz to win.”

Lisandro brushed off journalists’ attempts to find out whether he believed Benfica were stronger this year following their big-name arrivals.

“I don’t know if they are stronger than last year. I think that we are better from last season, but I have not paid too much attention to Benfica’s players. But what is clear is they are always a good team.”

The Argentine ace has yet to score this season, but does hold an impressive strike rate against Benfica – three goals in five matches, although his goals have all been scored at home. “I’m not too worried about that. What’s important is that I help the team bring back three points.”

Lisandro also refused to be drawn to comment on the transfer speculation surrounding his teammate, Ricardo Quaresma. “A lot has been said for quite some time, but we will wait until August 31. Afterwards, yes, I will speak, but now we must remain calm.”
