Mourinho gets his man: Quaresma completes Inter Milan move
Midfielder Pele comes to Porto as part of the deal
The protracted transfer saga involving Ricardo Quaresma came to a satisfactory conclusion for all parties last night.
Gestifute, the site of his agent, Jorge Mendes, confirmed that the talented FC Porto winger has been sold to Inter Milan for 24.6m euros – 18.6m in cash plus Inter Milan’s Portuguese midfielder Pele, evaluated at six million euros.
The deal could bring a total of 30.6m euros to the Dragons, depending on the performances of the player and Inter Milan over the next three years.
Porto at first insisted he would only be sold for the 40m euro release clause stipulated in his contract, but given the relatively depressed state of the transfer market this summer the Portuguese champions were eventually forced to substantially lower the price.

Quaresma is in Milan undertaking his medical, and barring any last-minute hitch will be presented to the media later today.
The transfer had been expected to happen much earlier this summer, with Quaresma frequently expressing his wish to move abroad and Inter boss Jose Mourinho openly stating his admiration of the player.
The capture of Pele will go some way to alleviating that disappointment. The former Guimaraes midfielder enjoyed an impressive year in Inter Milan last season and the 20-year-old is seen as an ideal replacement for the departed Paulo Assuncao.
