Vaz Te striving to pick up where he left off

Striker looks to win permanent place in starting line-up

Portuguese striker Ricardo Vaz Te is looking forward to starting the new Premiership season with Bolton Wanderers, and hopes to pick up where he left off at the end of last campaign.

The 19-year-old ended last season with three goals in his side’s last four games, and is hoping to start Bolton’s opening match of the season against Tottenham on August 19th.

“I know the first game is going to be hard, but hopefully I’ll make the first eleven – that’s all I want right now,” he said.

Having scored with an impressive finish against Burnley in pre-season, Vaz Te was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet in the weekend defeat at Derby, but the former Farense man is positive about starting the season well.

“I’m looking to start off from the same level as I ended last season. I’ve been working hard and although I missed a few chances at the weekend I will try to put that right as soon as possible. When the 19th comes, I’ll hopefully be ready.”

“For now, I just want to start the first game and then after that take it from there. Obviously, I want to play in many games. Last season I didn’t get too many starts, but now I want to be in it from the beginning.”
