Braga’s Nunes makes Spain switch

Braga have reluctantly sold centre-back José Nunes to Majorca. The Portuguese defender has been in superb form this season and played a big role in Braga’s strong showing in the Liga.

The transfer cost the Spanish club 2.5 million euros, with Nunes signing a three and a half year contract.

The 28-year-old is happy to make the switch across the border.

“At Majorca I’m going to start another stage in my life. I’m delighted to be coming to Spanish football. I realise the team is going through a rough patch but I’ve been through these kinds of situations before.”

Nunes added that he hopes to make his debut in next Sunday’s encounter against La Corunna, where he will face compatriot Jorge Andrade.
