RSS – a mighty clever way to use the Internet

Would you like to be automatically alerted every time PortuGOAL publishes a new story? If the answer is yes, read on.

What is RSS?

An RSS feed is basically a simple piece of software that lists a website’s content. After downloading a newsreader to your PC, whenever a new article is published on PortuGOAL, the headline will flash up on your desktop.

Should you want to read the story, simply click on the headline and you will be taken directly to the article.

This means you will not have to check PortuGOAL, or any other site you choose to add to your newsreader, multiple times a day to see if there are updates; your news reader will do that for you and will let you know when there is a new story to be read.

This is why RSS makes using the Internet more efficient, with some enthusiasts even going so far as to say it is revolutionising the way we use the web.

But don’t take our word for it – see for yourself.

How can you start using RSS?

Download a newsreader, such as the following: www.feedreader.com/download/ (*). Add the PortuGOAL RSS news feed to it by returning to this page (or the home page) and clicking on the orange RSS icon, then going back to your newsreader and… lift off.

You are now ready to receive PortuGOAL articles as they are published.

* There are a multitude of newsreaders downloadable for free on the web. This one is cited simply because it was the first one we experimented and we have no complaints.

Get downloading and keep right up to date with PortuGOAL!
