Sporting sign Slovakian international

Left-back Marian Had fills squad vacancy

Sporting have signed Slovakian international left-back Marian Had on a loan deal with an option to purchase the player outright at the end of the season.

Marian Had is 24 years old and comes from Lokomotiv Moscow. He has already played once in Lisbon, in the 2-0 defeat to the Portugal in a World Cup qualification match in 2005.

The player competes with FC Porto defender Marek Cech for the left-back spot in his national team.

The arrival of Marian Had fills the gap left by the unexpected departures of Rodrigo Tello and Marco Caneira during the summer. Had will compete with Ronny for the left-back spot.
