Pedro Silva delighted at “dream move” to Sporting
Brazilian in Lisbon to take medical and sign contract
Pedro Silva has spoken of his delight as he flew into Lisbon to sign for Sporting.
The Brazilian right-back told O Jogo “Sporting is a great club, which aspires to win titles and always to win. I’ve got good memories of Portugal and it will be a joy to return.”
Silva played for Academica de Coimbra earlier in his career before returning to his homeland to play for Brazilian giants Corinthians.
The 26-year-old was forced to pay a sizeable sum to rescind his contract to leave him free to pen a deal for Sporting. “It’s true that I gave up a lot at Corinthians and in Sao Paulo to be able to play for Sporting.”
“This opportunity is a dream for me. I’m going full of endeavour and dedication. I want to be a winner.”
“Tomorrow (Friday) I’ll be doing a series of medical tests and I’ll introduce myself to the squad. If the coach wants I’ll be ready to play against Recreativo Huelva on Saturday night.”
