Fiorentina join queue for Miguel Veloso

Italian club contact Sporting midfielder’s agent

Despite the recent poor form of both club and player, Miguel Veloso continues to garner plenty of interest around Europe.

Paulo Barbosa, the player’s agent, has revealed that Fiorentina, who recently bought another of Portugal’s up-and-coming stars, Manuel da Costa, are the latest club to ask about the Portugal international.

“I confirm that Fiorentina are interested, but no negotiations are taking place. They contacted me asking about information on the player,” said Barbosa.

“At the moment there is nothing concrete. If negotiations begin it will be with a view to a summer transfer,” added the agent.

Fiorentina join a long line of clubs showing an interest in Veloso. Manchester United, Arsenal and Atletico Madrid are all thought to be closely monitoring the Sporting star.
