Sporting starlet Adrien Silva tracked by European heavyweights

Tottenham lead chase for midfielder tipped for the top

Adrien Silva

Young Sporting starlet Adrien Silva is attracting the attention of some of Europe’s biggest clubs, despite the fact that he has practically no first-team experience for the Lions.

After being set to play for the youth team this season, Silva was promoted to the senior squad after a series of impressive displays in pre-season friendlies.

He has so far played just a handful of minutes for the first team, but that has not stopped the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Sevilla keeping track of latest Sporting product who looks set for stardom.

Star players production line

Last summer Nani cost Manchester United 25 million euros, and buyers interested in recruiting the latest Sporting sensation, Miguel Veloso, will have to cough up 30 million euros to complete any deal.

These huge fees have led to clubs looking to purchase the latest hot prospects coming through Sporting’s remarkably successful youth system before their value spirals into the mega millions.

The Lisbon club has produced players of the quality of Luis Figo, Cristiano Ronaldo, Simao Sabrosa and Ricardo Quaresma, as well as latest stars Nani and Veloso.

Tottenham are reported to be willing to offer four million euros to take the 18-year-old attacking midfielder to the Premiership.
