Ricardo Costa pens three-year Wolfsburg contract
Germans expects big things from Portugal international
Former FC Porto central defender, Ricardo Costa, has officially signed for Bundesliga outfit, Wolfsburg.
The deal was completed over the weekend with the Portuguese international penning a three-year deal with the German side.
Wolfsburg will pay the two-time Portuguese champions close to 4 million euros for the transfer. New coach Felix Magath could not be happier with the move and has high expectations for the stopper.
“He is here to organise the defence. Not only with his quality, but with his personality too. I am very happy with this transfer. He will reinforce this group.”
This will be the second Portuguese central defender that Magath will coach as he also oversaw Fernando Meira during his time at Stuttgart.
Costa will not be the only Portuguese player at the club as ex-Benfica defender Alex has already been there for two years, while Sporting’s former Argentine centre-back, Quiroga, also plays for Wolfsburg.
