I don't get it PDF Print E-mail

If his contract expired after Euro12, why'd they renew it before Euro12? Surely they'd want to see how he performs in a major competition before giving him the extension. Yeah, he's light years ahead of Queiroz but let's not get too carried away. We couldn't get it done against Poland in our last friendly. We only needed a draw against Denmark, and lost, and except for the game against Spain(which the Spanish didn't look like they were taking seriously - we could play that game a 100 times, and we wouldn't beat them 4-0), the rest of our wins have been against those heavyweights Cyprus, Iceland and Bosnia. I think some on here are unrealistically optimistic. Obviously I want us to win Euro12, but if Pepe or Bruno Alves get injured (or sent off) and Bento doesn't call up Paulo Jorge (like he should, though I think he won't), we're screwed. If Rolando takes the field, may God have mercy, because the opposition strikers won't. Moutinho is not a world-class mid. Mesut Ozil is a world-class mid, Xavi and Iniesta are world-class. Moutinho is a good player no doubt, and the best we got, but you can't compare him to Ozil or Xavi. And why is everyone assuming that Daniel Carrico will save us like some knight in shining armor? Bento hasn't called up Carrico and there is no guarantee that he will. The last friendly we played was a good opportunity to play Viana, Paulo Jorge, Nelson Oliveira, and others, and see what they offer, but instead we play the same guys, learn nothing (play Oliveira out wide for 10 minutes) and lose confidence(our first 11 can't even score on Poland). Even if Danny was fit, we'd probably play him out of position out wide. I'd like to like Bento, but he's just too predictable, and he makes too many stupid decisions. With the number of Portuguese managers on the scene now, surely we can find better for the Seleccao.
