Eagles cruise into round of sixteen
Benfica sealed top spot in Champions League Group C with a low-key victory over Otelul Galati at the Luz tonight. Oscar Cardozo’s early tap-in got the home side off to the perfect start, and although what followed will not linger long in the memory, the Eagles have accomplished what they set out to do back in July. |

Heroic effort from Porto falls just short
FC Porto 0-0 Zenit St. Petersburg
A rousing display by FC Porto failed to glean the goal they richly deserved and they needed to beat Zenit Saint Petersburg tonight. The goalless draw at the Estadio do Dragao sees the Portuguese champions drop into the Europa League. Vitor Pereira's players were applauded off the pitch, despite the bitter disappointment. |

Porto aim to complete Champions League resurrection
FC Porto v Zenit St. Petersburg preview
 Just a fortnight ago FC Porto travelled to Shakhtar Donetsk with a very real possibility of being knocked out of Europe altogether. Tonight, they welcome Zenit St. Petersburg to the Estadio do Dragao in the knowledge that victory will qualify them for the knockout stages of the Champions League, and could even see them finishing top of Group G. |
