Well, from a neutral perspective, I'd say that Porto are THE team right now in Portugal and have been for the last decade or so. What Mourinho did with Porto was just awesome, and to see the elite level of talent that has come and gone over the years is just amazing: Quaresma, Lisandro Lopez, Hulk, Moutinho, Falcao, and the list goes on and on.
Still, Benfica are not far off from being at the same level as Porto in my opinion. I think one area where Benfica has really struggled more than Porto is in Europe. I'm not really sure why that is, but Benfica need to work on being more successful in Europe to catch up to Porto.
Historically, Benfica are probably the better team, but that's not going to last much longer at this rate. Benfica need to make some big changes and as others have pointed out, and I wouldn't mind seeing one or two more Portuguese players in the starting lineup. I guess that could be said of Porto and Sporting too though.
Congratulations Porto... and to all the Benfica fans, quit worrying so much, you have a great squad that will be vying for titles again next season.
