Yes as I said earlier, I am not blaming our failure to win the Liga on that single match, even if it did help seriously to bring the momentum to Porto. I admit we were not good enough in the last few months to win the Liga and Porto managed to be unspectacularly consistent for the second half of the season. Congrats to them for pulling it off. But I still think over the course of the whole season, Benfica overall was better than Porto. You finished the Liga campaign better, albeit with a lot of decisions coming your way in crucial moments. But i agree with NJ in his post, after your season last year, you were suppoused to be challenging for the CL this year. You couldn't even make it out of the easiest group possible, without a single opponent from the big 5 Euro leagues.. while we should've been in the semi-finals with a little more luck against Chelsea (who had ALL the luck!). It's a fine line between success and failure, and we were just below it, but we'll be back for more next season! And btw don't be overly confident about "continuing to win championships". First off, good luck holding on to Hulk this summer, it seems he's likely to finally be going. Do you really think you would've been champs this season without him? No chance! Plus whether you like it or not, SLB is emerging out of our drought period, season by season, steadily improving...a forca enorme do SLB continua sempre!!! Plus Sporting are moving in the right direction too, and even Braga are proving to be contenders as well, so it's all becoming a lot more competitive these days. So I hope Portistas have enjoyed their period of dominance (they finally had one after 80 odd years!), because like all cycles, it will come to an end soon. Time will tell in the end...
