B teams confirmed for Liga Orangina
Second tier to expand to 22 sides
It has been confirmed this evening that Portugal's second tier will host B teams for the first time next season. After months of speculation and no small amount of sniping; Porto, Benfica, Sporting, Braga, Marítimo and Vitória de Guimarães will field second-string outfits in the lower of the country's two professional divisions. |

FPF gives green light to B teams
Six Liga Orangina places available for 2012/13
It was confirmed last night that the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) has ratfied the proposal put forward by the Liga clubs for the introduction of B teams into the professional divisions, effective next season. In a communique posted on the FPF's website, Portuguese football's governing body confirmed the agreement, which allows for up to six new additions to the Liga Orangina. |
