Good game. The future is bright for Sporting as long as Ricardo Sa Pinto remains the manager of the club! Nice to see Wolfsinkel get his first hattrick. The Sporting Juniors were crowned National Champions on Saturday and that team is full of excellent young talents. Sa Pinto is a good manager for Sporting and he is the perfect man to lead this club and integrate the homegrown talents. I do like Wolfs but he has some weaknesses and if we need other attributes like excellent pace and dribbling skills up top he cannot offer it. He's very much stuck in his target man poacher mold. That is why I'm very excited about Sporting possibly signing Hugo Vieira. He will be a great signing for Sporting as he will offer that alternative style of pace and skill up top. I hope we get him. He's also Portuguese and he's young 23 and has loads of potential. If we get him I will be very happy.
With Sa Pinto the club is in the right hands. We've already got a very strong squad, and there are a two Sporting players on loan who I think should definitely be brought back for the first team - Adrien Silva and Cedric Soares. Sebastian Ribas should be sent back to Genoa if we get Hugo Vieira. Elias should be sold, and since Rinaudo is almost fully recovered, Renato Neto can be sent back to Cercle Brugge. Also Joao Perreira I think is going to be sold, so Cedric Soares will be the perfect replacement for him. Adrien Silva is a very good midfielder. Yes Schaars is good, but Adrien can do it just as well. I believe Adrien will come back. Ricardo Sa Pinto is a true lion and a true Sporting man and he will definitely have the Portuguese identity of the club at heart in this transfer period coming up.
Yes ultimately Sporting have finished 4th in the league which is no better than previous seasons really, but that is not the fault of the man who is currently in charge. I repeat since Sa Pinto has been the manager Sporting has been continually improving and the club is going forward in the right direction! The management board should fully support him. With these slight tweaks to the team that I believe he will do and the success of the most talented crop of Juniors players ever in Sporting's history, Sporting is in a good position for success now and in the coming seasons!
