Edinho hoping for AEK exit

Striker open to move

edinhoPortuguese international Edinho says he hopes to leave Greek club AEK this summer, but is reluctant to move back to Portugal at this stage.

The 26-year-old forward left Vitoria Setubal last January for the Athens-based club, initially on a six-month loan deal. Edinho impressed enough during that time to secure a permanent deal with AEK last summer, but differences with manager Dusan Bajevic have led to a frustrating second campaign in the capital.

The added exposure gained from his first cap and debut goal for Portugal earlier this year has led to Edinho attracting a long list of potential suitors. French side Paris Saint-Germain have been credited with an interest, with the player last month admitting that he would relish a move to the French capital.

“AEK know about my decision to leave," he said. "My priority is to stay abroad and my representative has told me there are offers. There are some things, that is all I will say. The national team can open some doors for me; a lot of people still doubt my quality.”

I definitely agree... Edinho is showing some promise. He has been battling it out in Greece and showed some great performances and goals.

He might be the answer we're looking for right now when it comes to the "Striker" position...

However, I'd always pair him up with a second "striker" either behind or beside him. Maybe Almeida or Ronaldo.
PSG, a good move for Edinho

I like the move to PSG that he has in mind. It certainly suited Pauleta and helped him become a great striker, moving to play French football. Best of luck to him, we need a good striker.
