Ricardo Fernandes heads back to CyprusPortuguese joins Cristovao Ramos in Famagusta Former Porto and Sporting midfielder Ricardo Fernandes has joined Cypriot side Anorthosis Famagusta, signing a three-year deal with the club.The 31-year-old (pictured) spent last season at Metalurh Donetsk in Ukraine, where he impressed, scoring nine league goals as the team finished in a respectable 4th place in the Premier League to secure a berth in the 2009/2010 Europa League. However, Fernandes has opted for a return to Cyprus, where he enjoys a superb reputation having played for three years in the colours of APOEL Nicosia, before is move to Metalurh last summer. Anorthosis, who finished in 3rd place last term, have handed the playmaker the no.10 shirt for next season. Joining Fernandes at the club will be Cristovao da Silva Ramos, the 26-year-old ex-Porto academy midfielder, who arrives from AEP Paphos. A former Portugal under-21 international, Cristovao played briefly for Penafiel and Leixoes after leaving Porto, and moved to Cyprus with Paphos in 2006. By Sean Gillen
