Video: Simao on form as Atletico down GetafeAtletico Madrid 2-0 Getafe Simao Sabrosa’s strong form during the opening months of the season shows no sign of letting up, after the former Portugal winger scored his fourth goal of the season as Atletico Madrid beat city rivals Getafe.
The 31-year-old is in the final year of his contract at the Vicente Calderon, and has been one of Quique Sanchez Flores’ side’s most impressive performers so far. Simao is now Atletico’s leading goalscorer, with three goals in La Liga and an additional strike in the team’s Europa league campaign. Simao’s goal against Getafe was typical of the former Benfica captain, who curled home a free-kick seven minutes before half time to give Atletico the lead. Diego Costa made the game safe for the hosts on 73 minutes when he rounded off a nice move with a calm finish from close-range. Tiago Mendes also started the game and played the full ninety minutes for Atletico, who temporarily moved up into fifth place in the table with 13 points from their seven matches played in La Liga so far. and I have to agree with Lusostriker on the post he made on the Portugal article. Although hes not on point, he has the same concept. I too believe theres a couple of people posting with various different names.
For one, I am not Orlandomac. Although I never liked Queiroz, when have you seen me use those mocking names against him? As I recall, Orlandomac trash talked Quaresma after the 4-4 draw with Cyprus. I was the one praising him. So do some research before making these ludicrous accusations.
I've got a good feeling that your mannyscp because you got the same intention of coming here and leaving these stupid comments. Why dont you reflect on the article a bit?.. then you wont look as stupid as you are.
I still say if we need someone with that technical ability, Simao is the man. He reminds me of Figo. Simple dribbles, less flashy and quite honestly more productive at times.
There is no doubt that he would fit on any national team. The only thing that Nani is better for is pace. If Simao was still 26, he would be starting ahead of Nani.
