We must be a cohesive block - BetoDefender sizes up match with Benfica Belenenses will have face the acid test when the Belem side host Benfica at the Restelo. One of the club's summer signings, Beto, expects a tough contest, one that will require the Azuis to be focused every second of the way.
The central defender is all too familiar with the Lisbon outfit, having been involved in hotly contested derbies when the stopper was with Sporting. Beto knows that Belenenses are not on the same level as Benfica in terms of finances or player recognition, but the centre-back feels that his side are not any less capable of producing an upset. "Everyone knows that Benfica are a great adversary, a rival who is motivated and have had an excellent start to the season, and are coming off of an excellent result (8-1 victory against Vitoria Setubal)," said Beto. "But we will try to counter Benfica's favouritism with humility and sacrifice, always searching for our best in front of our supporters." "Benfica have payers that are very strong individually. They are a team that is well oriented and are producing more because of their togetherness, but it' not just the defence that has to stop the opponent , it's the entire team." 'We have to play as a block, focused and cohesive, because we wil have enormous difficulties playing against motivated players who are confident and have a lot of quality." The former Recreativo Huelva palyer added that he is happy with his return to Portugal, but feels that he is not as sharp as he would like to be. "I am happy to have returned (to Portugal), but I need to develop more of a rhythm as quickly as possible and a better rapport with the team. I am adapting well and I have been well received." by Marco Pereira

From the start of the season Benfica looks strong. Usually they don't start off strong and the last time they started off strong was back in 2004/05 season and they ended up winning the league. It doesn't mean they will, but I strongly believe in Benfica. They have the depth and hope they continue to play beautiful and strong and get the results that matter.

belenenses cant beat benfica, especially now.last season they couldnt beat benfica when they were playing bad with quique flores so how are they going to beat benfica now when they have a great coach, have a stacked team of superstars, and are playing big football.belenenses shouldnt even be in the liga this year. they were supposed to be relegated last year. third place santa clara should have went to the first division in place of estrela amadora instead of belenenses.
